Pastor Brandon M. Moore

Meet Our Pastor

The Reverend Brandon M. Moore is a native of Baltimore, MD and received early Christian nurture and instruction throughout his family life. His family includes connections with and to the Baptist, Apostolic and Methodist communions. He cites his grandfather, Apostle Stanley M. Butler as his first “favorite preacher” and initial ministry mentor. Discerning and answering the Call to preach early on, he formally entered the Christian ministry through The African Methodist Episcopal Zion (A.M.E. Zion) Church at his home church, Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion under the pastoral leadership of the (then) Reverend Dr. Dennis V. Proctor. Reverend Moore was both licensed and ordained under the Episcopal leadership of the late Right Reverend Milton A. Williams, Sr.

Reverend Moore is a proud product of the Baltimore City and Baltimore County public school system. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend Livingstone College (Salisbury, NC); earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. While matriculating at Livingstone, Reverend Moore was elected Chaplain for the Varick International Christian Youth Council (VICYC), for The A.M.E. Zion Church and held this office from 2006-2010.   Shortly after graduation he relocated to Georgia and once settled, entered seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta, GA). Matriculating as a Harry and Selma Richardson Fellow, he would go on to receive the Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Theology.

In September of 2013, he was assigned to serve as Youth Pastor of Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Church (Smyrna, GA) and did so until November 2015. In February of 2014, he was promoted to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor of Shaw Temple. He served under pastoral leadership of the (then), Reverend Dr. George D. Crenshaw and the Reverend Eldren D. Morrison, respectively.  In October of 2016, Reverend Moore entered the pastoral Ministry of The A.M.E. Zion Church. He was appointed to serve the Smith Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church of Anniston, AL; having received this appointment at the hand of the Right Reverend Seth O. Lartey. Reverend Moore was pleased to serve “Zion’s Church in Anniston.” In the time he served here, the church witnessed dynamic growth on all fronts: membership, spirituality and fiscal stewardship. June of 2017, Reverend Moore accepted the assignment to serve the Faith A.M.E. Zion Church of Atlanta, GA. He received the appointment at the hand of the Right Reverend Mildred B. Hines. God is very much at work in life of this growing congregation -by Faith.

What is most important is his gratitude to God for his salvation and a closer walk with Jesus Christ. Reverend Moore is likewise blessed to be married to the former Miriam Aliyya Spruill (Mt. Vernon, NY), and they are the proud parents of two children: Brendon E.R. Moore and Serenity S. Moore.
